Redemptorist Vocational School for People with Disabilities

From a very early age young Thai boys learn how to play ta-kraw, one of the national sports of

Thailandand several other South East Asian countries.

It looks an easy game, and many foreigners attempt to play, but it is not as easy as it looks. The rules are simple though; three players each team and the aim is to get a small plastic ball over a net, using any part of the body except the arms and hands.

But you need to be fit, supple and have a hard head, because when the ball is traveling at speed it will hurt.

On almost every street, car park and any piece of land there will be millions of men of all ages playing in the early evening.

Our students at the Vocational School are good players and while students may be best of friends in the classroom they turn into sworn enemies on the ta-kraw court.
