Pattaya School for the Blind

The birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand is the biggest holiday of the year. A public holiday where all schools and government offices are closed. It is a day for families to come together to pay respects to the King and also celebrate the day as Fathers Day.

At the School for the Blind the students held a longer than usual morning assembly with a ceremony to ask for blessings for the King and sing songs in his honour.

Members of the school band were on hand to accompany the singers and each and every child sang as loud as they could. They sang so loud that a group of passing Russian tourist stopped outside the school to listen to them.
