Redemptorist Vocational School for People with Disabilities
The annual Teachers v Students wheelchair basketball match was always going to be a fierce match; we just didn’t know how fierce it would be.
Many students were of the opinion that their younger and fitter fellow students would comfortably win. But while the teachers are older, and maybe not as fast as they used to be, they know all the tricks, and have all be playing for many years. Several have represented Thailand at international competitions and so playing against a group of younger students caused no concern.
Just to show the young students how good they really are, within the first minute of the game the teachers had tipped one students out of his wheelchair and scored the first goal of the game.
At the end of the match the teaching staff claimed victory, and the students learned a valuable lesson – never underestimate someone who is a few years older than yourself.
