Mothers Day falls on the 12th of August each year, which is also the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Mother of the Nation.

As the holiday fell on a Saturday this year the students at the vocational school and the School for the Blind paid their respect to her Majesty on the day before, Friday.

At the Vocational School Sister Pavinee opened the ceremony by paying respect in front of a large portrait of the Queen. The students then sang the royal song before one female student came forward to read her winning essay which was on the subject of mothers.

Over at the School fro the Blind a similar ceremony was taking place with the students all singing to the Queen.
