Father Ray Children’s Home

Traditionally the reason for all the water at Songkran was to clean everything ready for the new year, to wash out all the old and bring in the new.
It was Father Anthony who this year climbed up and washed the statue of Father Ray and wrapped a large garland of marigolds around it.
Then it was time for the children to pay their respects as they poured water over a statue of Mary, a smaller statue of Father Ray and one of the Buddha. They then poured the scented water over the hands of all the elders, the teachers and staff who take care of them.
Then they all went a bit wild!
